letter to baby

dear scarlett,
i wish i could tell you that being a new mommy is the easiest thing in the world. but it isn't. but there are so many moments that melt my heart and make it all worth it.
for the longest time, daddy has been pestering me to buy you a comb because your hair sticks up. i told him that auntie joy would be coming to visit and would be bringing a comb/brush set. so when she did finally come and visit on dec. 4th, daddy was so excited to comb your hair. i will never forget it. i was sitting in the dining room working and i looked over in the living room and i saw daddy looking at you with the sweetest smile on his face and he was combing your crazy hair. it almost brought tears to my eyes.
today you turned over for the first time. well actually you turned over when you were 9 days old but i think today was more intentional. i am sad because i actually missed it because i was on my laptop working =( but daddy said he saw you do it.
today daddy also attempted to wear you on his back and he did a really great job. you were so happy and content hanging out on daddy's back while he put away the dishes.
